"When I was young I was punished because I was always drawing in my copy-books. Now I am paid for that. What could be better?"
In 1967, Claude Viseur started his professional life in the Belvision Studios in Brussels and participated in the creation of cartoons ("Asterix" with Goscinny and Uderzo, "Lucky Luke" with Morris, "Tintin" with Hergé ...). At that time he chose his nickname Clovis (short for his first and second names). He has been a racing car fanatic for a long time and started collaborating in some Belgian racing car magazines.
In 1974 he met Jean Graton, joined his cartoonist team and became responsible for the drawing of Michel Vaillant's cars. Meanwhile he started having more and more contacts with racing cars companies, sponsors and magazines who asked him some illustrations.
In 1981 he left Jean Graton and a few years later set up his own company CAR-toon that publishes and sells some of his creations in the form of limited prints, posters and cards.
Since then he has been working as a mercenary always ready to challenge with too short deadlines. Whether it be a comic strip, a cartoon, a realistic or humoristic drawing, of recent or historic cars, he is always willing to meet his client's requirements. In his creations he uses pencil, Chinese ink, gouache, water color and acrylic.
He has participated in many exhibitions in Belgium and abroad and the DPPC Editions have published a book of 160 pages about his 25 - year - carreer...
